The first student to get killed in the protest against an Apartheid education system was Hector Pieterson. The student uprising of 1976 in Soweto, South Africa was captured in an iconic image (see board). Channel O recreated this image by overlaying a positive message for Youth Day, which is a public holiday in South Africa.
