Background
It is estimated that by 2050 traffic in the cities will have tripled. Tackling the issue of mobility will need bold actions. Most of all it will require technological advances.
The briefing:
Create a brand new mobility solution, an electric scooter.
It has to be a very high innovation vehicle, very lightweight, it has to be foldable and it has to be something never seen before.
Describe the creative idea
From the very beginning the client aimed at a brand positioning, that sits beyond a pure technological promise, he wanted to aim for a premium life-style segment, the so-called "MASSSTIGE" segment. Seeking a tension between technological innovation and warm premiumness. We didn't want to create a scooter, but a human interface.
Describe the execution
We got inspired by design of the TEL AVIV ART MUSEUM by the architects Preston-Scott-Cohen. With its contemporary triangular surfaces, which seem to move and fold depending on environmental circumstances, juxtaposed with warm concrete and soft wooden floors, it is the perfect example of how technology can express an approachable and human character.
Being the first to use nano-technology to such an extend, we were able to reduce the weight drastically to on a third of that of a VESPA and create rubber tires, that have 30% more grips and much more longevity at the same time.
List the results
UJET scooter is the technologically most advanced scooter on the market.
- IT IS FOLDABLE
- it is the first production vehicle with "orbital" wheels (no spokes which adds safety)
- it is incredible light, only 46 kg (Vespa 50cc has a weight of 120 Kg)
- it has adjustable seat-hights (the first scooter to have that)
- the battery can act as an external power source
- it has a range of 160 km
- max speed of 45km/h
- it charges in only two hours
