OVERVIEW

Cultural / Context information for the jury

Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Yokohama City jointly lead a community development project called “Sports Town Initiative”. The initiative aims to revitalize the economy in the area surrounding Yokohama Stadium through sports and relevant activities. The poster is designed to raise the awareness of the residents of, and visitors to, the area around the stadium about the “Sports Town Initiative” and “reinforce the bond between Yokohama and Yokohama DeNA BayStars”.

On the outer wall of the large commercial complex near the stadium (Yokohama Vivre), the poster featuring BayStars’ slugger, Tsutsugo, embedded in a giant QR code, was dramatically displayed.

The QR code directs the smart device users to Yokohama DeNA BayStars’ 70th anniversary special website, where the users can see original movies created by the team.

The poster was highly synergetic with smartphones and SNS, prompting the viewers to “view”, “take photos”, “search”, and “spread” the information.

Is the poster / billboard larger or smaller than a 6 sheet poster

It is 15 x 15 m.
