CampaignDescription
The Typefaces are simply faces in type. They are for the designer in every child and the child in every designer.
Execution
Embracing the tactile honesty of letterpress, Scott created all 26 roman letters and paired them with some kooky rhymes in a neat little book. He also made a Newspaper edition through newspaperclub.com and then t-shirts, posters, and mugs seemed like a logical extension to make the idea accessible.
Outcome
Embracing the tactile honesty of letterpress, Scott created all 26 roman letters and paired them with some kooky rhymes in a neat little book. He also made a Newspaper edition through newspaperclub.com and then t-shirts, posters, and mugs seemed like a logical extension to make the idea accessible.
Strategy
The idea invites your participation, as the faces are mostly ‘found’ within the negative space. Creating an emotional connection, a ‘smile in the mind’ if you will. Beyond that, The Typefaces as a concept encourages us all to look at familiar things in new ways.
Synopsis
Last year our design director, Scott Lambert, was on his hour long commute from home to work, it was a little buffer of time between him being a dad and being a designer. Every day on the train he would play with a letterpress iPad app and he began to see silhouettes in the letters. And with the help of a little grammar, they came alive.
