The idea is art piece that rhythmically builds and crescendos. It speaks

to the audience through breathtaking, inspirational and cinematic visual interpretations of the lyrics. These words are displayed on screen in different languages (depending on which market we are in) for every culture to experience. Some of the characters will sing the lyrics with theirown individual expression of what freedom is.

Using visuals that expressed freedom worldwide, director Paul Hunter wanted to pay homage to the past and also the present in a contemporary way. It was about finding images through various artists, photographers, documentaries, painters, whatever could find that expressed freedom.

Freedom has been acclaimed as a social, political, and environmental enlightenment, as it unites cultures and countries to convey the human experience in its fullest, freest expression. It has countless enthusiastic and supportive reviews and has been nominated for a 2016 Grammy for Best Music Video. Pharrell premiered the Freedom single on Apple Music's Beats 1 on June 30th, he first used his June 27th Glastonbury Festival performance to give the track a proper welcome.

Pharrell's Freedom music video, is much more than a visual experience. It's a piece art meant to capture and plant a seed of unity and harmony in today's modern culture. It is a film experience meant to connect with viewers on a global level as it strikes a chord visually, spiritually, sonically.

The countless visuals in this film reflect the lyrics. Other images may be more poetic, metaphorical – reminding the audience that freedom exists in

the mind.

This film takes the viewer on an epic voyage through space and landscape. It maneuvers us through the collective desire for, and experience of, FREEDOM. Pharrell

threads the film together with his voice and lyricism, appearing at key moments, delivering the message that this song – “Freedom” – belongs to the world. He’s giving a voice to those who need a reminder that freedom is a celestial gift that nobody can take away.
