BriefExplanation
A few months ago, a publishing project came to our hands, very different from those that we had undertaken until then.A personal but, at the same time, artistic project that should contain the soul and the heart of one of the country’s most important young collectors of contemporary art, who died in a traffic accident in 2010.A book of posthumous homage to this person, where the contemporary art world could give back the effort and dedication that he demonstrated throughout his life to art and art collecting.
ClientBriefOrObjective
The project was meant to reflect the work of collecting, the dedication, research and support to the world of contemporary art to which Antonio Sánchez Villalba consecrated his life.We should do it under a simple, emotional concept, specially focusing on the gratitude of the universe of contemporary art to his personality. This project not only had the purpose of perpetuating the figure of a great man, but also had to communicate his universe as a whole - people with whom he shared his life, along with the art to which he devoted himself
Effectiveness
The generated notoriety has exceeded our expectations and those of the client, since we are receiving more and more requests from people close to, or who knew, Antonio, wanting to have a book where his memory is kept alive. This is a book that the most important festival of contemporary art in the country, ARCO, will present in its next edition, to pay special tribute to Antonio Sanchez Villalba.
Execution
We relied on the idea of paying homage, and we considered the possibility of making the only book able to 'applaud' the figure of a person, and that could reward, by itself, the work he did during his lifetime. And that was what we have done.We brought together all the people close to him and made them applaud in order to say a farewell in the most emotional, warm and intimate way.A book where Antonio will always dwell, upon opening the flaps of this living book.
