OVERVIEW

CampaignDescription

Oil fumes are created when a loved one is cooking. After Fotile Cooker Hoods completely extract the fumes, the oil fumes discarded in the container is actually a sign of love. So Fotile used that oil fumes, a harmful by-product, to create a product of love. People need only to collect the accumulated oil in Fotile Cooker Hoods in the designated container, and send them to us.

In exchange, they will receive a book printed with a special ink processed from their household's oil fumes-“Oil Fumes Love Letter”. The cook can give this book printed from their oil fumes as a gift to their loved ones, and also share it on social media. We even converted 1,597 Fotile stores nationwide into bookstores for more people to see: the fumes that rise up when you cook are the best love letter to your loved ones.

Execution

We used oil fumes created when cooking to print a book of 68 love letters about cooking. 1.2 million people collected the accumulated oil in Fotile Cooker Hoods in the designated container, and send them to us. In exchange, they will receive a book printed with a special ink processed from their household's oil fumes.

We also collected 1845 love letters and attracted 3.2 million people to vote for their favorite ones on website, to make more people want it before it`s printed.

At last, we converted 1,597 Fotile stores nationwide into bookstores, to encourage people cook without the fear of oil fumes, and see them as the best love letters to their loved ones.

Outcome

1.2 million people sent us their extracted oil fumes in exchange for their own “Oil Fumes Love Letter”. 14 bookstores organised free book fairs for the “Oil Fumes Love Letter” book. 4 celebrities read out their own “Oil Fumes Love Letter” stories, sharing the hidden emotions behind their cooking with 64 million spectators. Our activation received more than 149 million impressions, was reported in 4,023 media articles, and recorded 4.7 million comments on cooking and love.

Synopsis

Chinese people use cooking as a way to express love. However, Chinese cooking methods such as deep-fried, pan-fried and stir-fried tend to create dense oil fumes. To avoid inhaling oil fumes, more and more people begin to avoid cooking. How can Fotile Cooker Hoods encourage people to let go of their fear of oil fumes, and cook more to express their love?
