Leica X2 Edition Fedrigoni – the most inspiring and valuable sample book in the world.

High key paper manufactures like Fedrigoni are up against price driven procurements in their various client industries. The category's tool of choice – the paper sample book – is mostly uninspiring and ineffective. We had to change the way of addressing the real decision makers.

This is why we oriented upstream in the value chain and focused on a different audience of gatekeepers and influencers with an extraordinary, out-of-the-box idea:

We replaced the traditional leather banderol of the Leica X2 camera body with the fine, but exceptionally robust Fedrigoni Constellation Jade paper. The high-grade packaging of the camera also became our special edition sample book in the unboxing experience.

The Paper Skin – a one-of-a-kind cooperation with Leica – creates a Fedrigoni brand experience, not only for the lucky ones able to secure one of the 25 limited editions, but for everybody who followed the design project on- and offline.

Our result was the most effective AND efficient paper sample book of all times!

The product design cooperation with Leica nets Fedrigoni a 36% revenue increase in their core business and 57.2% revenue growth in the product group “Constellation Jade“ compared to the previous year.

On top, the story of this outstanding brand cooperation generated business leads beyond expectations as well as talk value and viral buzz money couldn't have bought.

Neither Fedrigoni nor Leica actively advertised their product – no traditional media budget was spent. Cost of production and cooperation breaks even with revenue of the 25 limited editions.
