The a2 Milk Company has wonderful stories to tell – the miraculous discovery of a2 cows, the purity of a2 Milk™ and its health benefits. Problem is, these stories are a little too complex to tell in their entirety in every instance.

Execution

We created a unique storytelling framework to make it easy for people to quickly get to know a2’s history and benefits, and in turn tell their friends. Language and iconography come together to convey a2’s scientific roots and its 100 per cent natural credentials.

Outcome

Without ever undertaking a major advertising campaign, The a2 Milk Company has grown to become the top selling fresh milk brand in Australia’s major supermarkets. All it took was a simple story that people wanted to share.

Relevancy

The a2 Milk Company™ was founded in New Zealand in 2000 by scientist Dr Corran McLachlan,with the support of his business partner Howard Patterson, following a significant and amazing discovery: cows naturally produce different types of milk proteins and these proteins affect people differently. He learned that ordinary cows produce milk with different beta-casein proteins, called A1 and A2. What was amazing? People who had discomfort when drinking ordinary cows’ milk were able to enjoy a2 Milk™ without the same downsides because it contains only the A2 protein and no A1.

And, from there, The a2 Milk Company™ was formed.
