Description
The first step of this project was to transform an offer that we see every day into an offer that only appears once a century. To offer a family 100 years of energy.
Execution
1 century of energy by Manoel de Oliveira.
This was the first step to challenge the Portuguese to show 2 minutes of their energy in exchange for: 1 century of free energy. A multimedia campaign with excerpts from the documentary invited households to submit to the website a video about the energy of their household. The videos with most votes from the Portuguese were placed on a shortlist. That was analysed by a jury to chose the household that would win 100 years of free electricity and gas.
Outcome
The videos from the participant households generated more than one million interactions on social networking sites. In little more than a month, 339 mentions were made of the campaign in the media and there were more than ten million impressions on social networking sites and blogs.
Manoel de Oliveira died during the post-production of this film on 2 April 2015, without ever having seen his last work. The campaign was thus transformed into a final tribute to one of the most notable figures of the last century of Portuguese society.
