Description
The goal for the redesign of the Altoids website was to preserve the brand's image and its rich history by using an interactive atmosphere. WDDG was able to maintain the existing look and feel of the brand while incorporating two new Altoids promotions.During development, WDDG faced the challenge of retaining users' interest and motivating them to revisit the Altoids site. Another important element was to implement a retro look in the graphic design online by combining the 1950s, 60s and 70s design styles that are a trademark aspect of the Altoids print ads.In addition, the site needed to retain the ability for its devoted users to browse the complete catalogue of ads, send them via e-mail and download them.WDDG succeeded in bringing the Altoids brand to life online by using artwork from new and existing print advertising campaigns to create a cohesive look and feel through distinctive design and programming methods. The straightforward site with its fun, retro look appeals to consumers of all ages.The new layout also offers easy site maintenance for WDDG in the event that a new promotion, campaign or supplementary section needs to be included.
