Amnesty International Venezuela, as part of its 'Basta de Balas' (Stop Bullets) Campaign, demands a gun control policy to end armed violence. This time the focus was against stray bullet shootings, which affect entire communities every day, resulting in a major safety problem.

A Stray bullet is a gunshot that doesn't reach its objective and produces collateral damage, injuring or killing innocent bystanders who have no opportunity to flee or take any preventive measures. Most of the victims are unaware of the events leading to the gunfire and many incidents are caused by celebratory gunfire.
