OVERVIEW

Background

Brahma has always closely followed the story of Brazilian football. Regardless of where the match is held, Brahma is the loyal sidekick of the passionate fan, toasting to victories on the field and comforting the crowd in the toughest defeats.

But today, a new challenge plagues sports fans. Streaming services have expanded the horizons of football enthusiasts, offering high-resolution broadcasts on various devices. But this access and convenience come with a cost: the delay.

Streaming services lag behind by about 40 seconds compared to what's happening on free-to-air or cable TV.

Hearing the cheers of celebration from your neighbor before the goal comes on your own TV screen is definitely a problem that slows down the life of any football fan worldwide.

But Brahma is going to put an end to these delays with the world's fastest creamy technology.

Idea

To put an end to delayed celebrations and make the whole crowd shout in unison, Brahma has created an innovative product.

Introducing the Antenna Brahmeira.

It's a portable beer tap with micro-foam technology that makes your Brahma even foamier, paired with a digital TV antenna featuring the most powerful and fastest signal on the market.

This way, we ensure the creamy foam of the beer and the end of game spoilers so everyone can shout "goal" at the same time while toasting with Brahma in hand.

Strategy

To promote a product that goes against the streamings, we gotta crash the online broadcasts on streaming platforms to talk to the right target audience.

We crashed a live on YouTube from the current biggest Brazilian streaming to tease the fans watching the Brazilian championship game through this channel.

By participating in the stream's chat, we announced the goal in the comments seconds before it happened, leading the live audience to get to know the Antenna Brahmeira and join a giveaway on the Ambev beverage app. Whoever ordered Brahma to watch the championship games could win the Antenna Brahmeira in the giveaway.

Then, during the final championship between Santos and Palmeiras, two of the biggest teams in the country, we did an action to reduce the delay of the transmission for the fans who suffered the most from the lag, using the Antenna Brahmeira as the signal receiver.

Execution

To introduce this new product, we pulled off a 360º launch, involving TV and the internet, raising awareness about this topic that's in the everyday lives of thousands of fans on the eve of the final of Brazil's biggest state championship, introducing the Antenna Brahmeira as the perfect solution to end this deadlock.

We invited one of the biggest sports influencers in the country, Fred from Desimpedidos YouTube Channel, and the most charismatic former player and presenter in Brazil, Craque Neto, to announce the invention that will change football matches.

By combining a live TV merchandising spot and the product launch on the brand's social media channels in collaboration with Fred, we introduced the Antenna Brahmeira to the sports world by crashing a live YouTube broadcast during the championship final, sparking desire for the product and promoting Brahma consumption to the football community in a tournament that Brahma doesn't sponsor.

Outcome

We became the most remembered non-sponsoring brand of the Paulista Championship, the most important state tournament in Brazil, managing to expand the brand's reach to connect with more football moments across multiple screens, reaching an audience of 169 thousand households and over 61 million viewers.

On social media, we experienced a 200% growth in organic reach during the campaign period, with 19 million impressions, garnering an excellent response from the audience with 99% positive comments across all channels. We increased Brahma orders by 300% during the Paulista Championship final, with Antennas Brahmeiras on Zé Delivery selling out immediately
