Background
A campaign about driving awareness of the irresistible taste of KFC.
Built on solid creative insight, drawing on real event, a fake ‘report' gone viral. A student conned KFC out of chicken showing that people will do anything for the taste of KFC. We felt that placing this uniquely South African story within the context of a con artist film was a funny, incredibly imaginative way to highlight the idea & to leverage the cultural significance of the original event.
Execution
Cast in JHB & Cape Town for our lead & supporting cast. The minute we watched Rendani’s casting tape, we knew we had hit the jackpot. He had an innate understanding of the role, bringing this amazing mischievous element to the character, making him instantly likable and memorable. He was interesting & quirky in looks & personality. Funny, agreeable & engaging, without drifting into slapstick.
