Description

We got people motivated to get moving by combining new technology with the world's oldest exercise to create BangFit: the fitness method gym's don't want you to know about. Because if there’s one activity people are never too busy to do, it’s get busy.

BangFit works like a "Guitar Hero" for sex. Users synch their mobiles with our website on a desktop so they can "bang" along with the movements of professional adult actors on screen, using the phone's gyroscope to track their accuracy and score them based on their performance (in addition to providing an estimated calorie count). We consulted with health professionals and sex experts in order to identify the most physically demanding "sexercises" and apply them to the videos used in our program. In addition to the game, we also provided users with an illustrated chart with sexual positions that target all the major muscle groups.

Execution

The campaign was centered around a cross-device game that involved the use of 1 or more mobile devices and desktops/laptops allowed multiple players to compete with one another in real-time as they "banged" away to shed pounds and see who could earn the highest score.

We launched the campaign with a humorous SFW animated video which redirected people to www.bang.fit. Once there, users could learn more about the initiative, explore the most effective positions on our “sexercise” chart and order a “BangFit Band”: A waistband which helped users keep their phones attached to their hip during sex (the best way to accurately track their thrusting movements).

When they were ready, users could choose between 1,2 or 3 player BangFit routines. In the case of 2 or 3 players, each player was assigned to a different character that would appear in the video. Users were then prompted to sync their phones with the site by going to bangfit.mobi and when the video started, match their movements with those of their character, following the rhythm with a timeline at the top of the screen. And, like any other fitness routine these days, they could share their scores on social media afterward.

Outcome

BangFit was the brands most successful campaign to date in terms of media coverage and based on the numbers alone, we can see how the campaign actually engaged people and got them up and out of their seats (even if it was just to get into bed). With no media investment, we received the following results:

www.bang.fit received 1.8 Million unique visitors

Over 1.2 million individual games were played

+4 million video views

+600 articles about the initiative in 47 countries

Best of all, BangFit was #1 Top Trending on Facebook, a social network Pornhub is banned from.

Based on feedback from users online, and from hundreds of articles and televised mentions of the campaign, the overall message was extremely positive, with many experts thanking the brand for reinvigorating the debate about sedentariness and citing sex as a viable alternative to traditional exercise. Something that might just motivate couch potatoes.
