Description

Insinger de Beaufort is an Anglo-Dutch private bank and investment house, which likes to stand out from the competition by taking an independent and slightly unconventional approach to finance.

The Annual Review 2007 is the eighth in a series of diversely themed and designed annual reviews that have the intention to be kept on ones bookshelf. It is the challenge to come up with a theme each year that reflects the position, and the view of Insinger de Beaufort on the financial world of the last year. Subsequently the design of the book needs to communicate this seamlessly in a way suitable for a bank.

Execution

The theme part of this annual review, featuring the NoFit State circus, is divided into five chapters, woven through the CEO statement as a series of 5 book-in-books. By doing this we give, on first level, an impression of the magic show, but inside the book-in-books we get a view into the hectic world behind the show.

These hectic circumstances are also portrayed through typography, layout and the photography of Neil Massey. Typography: Subtle, delicate italic typography for the show text is contrasted with a blunt, bolder layered typography inside the book-in-books.

Layout: The full bleed dark imagery of the show, on the large pages, is contrasted with the multilayered images on white pages within the book-in-books, further conveying the contrast between what is seen on the surface and the hectic life.

Outcome

This annual report demonstrated Insingers continuing commitment to creating a unique brand mentality.The annual review was received well by both existing and potential clients as it gives a clear insight not just into the occurrences of the banks year but also an into the mentality and commitment of the bank itself.
