After getting a great night’s sleep on his Beautyrest Mattress, a guy decides to go down and apply for a job as a Superhero.

Open outside a house in the suburbs.

Early morning sounds, birds chirping, etc.

The front door opens and a guy walks out, in a bathrobe, holding a bullhorn. He then starts talking to his neighbors, through the bullhorn.

GUY: Attention, neighbors!

We see his neighbors stop what they’re doing to listen. A guy with his dog. A mother and child. A woman at her car. Two garbage men…

GUY: This is a warning. I repeat. This is a warning. I just got a great night sleep on my Beautyrest mattress, so I am refreshed, recharged and ready to go!

What does this mean?

It means that for the next 24 hours, I will be a coiled cobra of energy and enthusiasm, THAT’S ready to strike!

It means I will be reaching for the stars, grabbing one with both hands, turning, dribbling once, pump-faking, then draining a fall-away ten-footer into the nearest trash can – with the aforementioned star. Hi Joyce.

GUY, TO SKY:

It also means that the sky is the established limit.

GUY, INTO BULLHORN:

Sorry, the sky is the established limit… (oh, that made me so sick)

Our guy walks over to a tree nearby, and talks to a bird perched on a branch.

But mostly, it means that today, until further notice, the world is my oyster, and I am... that… that thing that shucks oysters, I don’t know is it an oyster knife… or… you’re a bird anyway.

To sum up: look out world, look out people, look out bird, look out boss, look out stupid neighbors - no offense Phil, but you’re dumb. Look out anyone who decides to cross my path today, because I slept like a log last night… Also, UH Stacy and I are planning a potluck thing, on Saturday, if you want to come by?

He puts the bullhorn down.

All the neighbors look confused.

He raises the bullhorn to his mouth again.

GUY, INTO BULLHORN: That is all!

He then runs back into his house.
