This commercial ran right before the feature presentation. The sound of cries and swords clashing made the audience believe the actual movie was beginning. But instead, a super appeared on the screen: “Like you, we are also anxious to see some blood. Become a voluntary blood donor.”
Outcome
During the month when this commercial was shown in movie theatres, the volume of blood donations rose 17% in comparison to the previous month. During the following three months, the volume of blood donations was in average 6.5% higher than in the months before the movie.
