During the Spring 2020 lockdowns, brands began navigating ways to create content within the new Covid-19 filming restrictions. The concept for the film was born in the garage of the agencies CD's home while planning a surprise movie date night for his wife. He contacted director/collaborator, Logan Roos, and asked him to recreate the surprise event, one of the first in 2020 that was shot remotely. To film safely, Roos shot the entire spot at home with his wife and daughter, while the agency and client contributed virtually. The only logistical element, aside from getting grandma to babysit, was getting the BMW delivered to his home on a flatbed truck. The result is an intimate and thoughtful film that documents a “new normal” we were all experiencing during that time.
