Description
The idea was to produce a loud hailer so that fans could voice their support for England in the semi-finals and then the finals (if they made it). 20,000 loud hailers were printed and 10,000 distributed at the England v France semi-final and the remainder at the England v Australia Final. They were adorned with the lines 'swing low in our sweet chariot' and ‘comin’ for to carry you home’, playing on the England supporters’ chant and the name of the British Airways Jumbo that was branded ‘Sweet chariot’.
Outcome
England won.
In post match interviews the England fans’ support wascontinually praised. Whether this support was amplified through the loud hailers, we will never know.
