Description

We established a partnership between the Tomorrowland festival and the Belgian airline Brussels Airlines, which became the official carrier of the festival. In Belgium, no specific rules apply, but then there are the aviation rules by international aviation authorities... Those caused a real headache. For safety reasons, you normally can’t use material on a plane that isn’t specifically manufactured for it. So no generator for extra power, impossible to plug in colored spotlights, etc.

Execution

The website of Tomorrowland referred to brusselsairlines.com to purchase plane tickets. For people who wanted to go to the festival, flying Brussels Airlines was not mandatory. But of course the airline gained credibility by the fact that they were chosen by the festival. They officially launched their Party Flights during the press conference of Tomorrowland, and the substantial press coverage boosted attention. Expectations were created: the festivalgoers knew they were going to have an incredible, unforgettable experience, but they didn’t know to what extent.

Outcome

Brussels Airlines has been chosen as official airline of the Tomorrowland festival. 140 flights from 67 different departure cities were organized and Brussels Airlines became more relevant to the young segment. All the 8,000 flight tickets were sold out in less than 5 hours!

Brussels Airlines is now on the radar of the young segment:

- Top Of Mind increased by 26%;

- Market Share increased by 7.5%;

- 1 million views on Brussels Airlines and Tomorrowland YouTube channels;

- Press coverage and free publicity on television, radio, web and printed press.
