Background

To demonstrate that Cadbury has been at the heart of peoples lives for 200 years, they brought back the most iconic Cadbury Dairy Milk packaging designs. To promote these limited edition packs, six unique artists and designers were commissioned to reimagine classic Cadbury advertising, born entirely of the era each iconic packaging design originated. From early watercolours, linocut printing, oils and acrylics, all the way to modern computer design. The posters were faithfully and meticulously crafted, replicating the techniques and styles of the eras.

Execution

The art direction was inspired by Cadbury advertising of the past. But instead of just digitally recreating ads that represented the period. We enlisted the skills of 6 unique artists and designers to recreate individual posters using the artistic techniques of the period. This meant early posters were hand crafted with handpainted headlines, moving all the way to early computer design. The posters act as a faithful representation of the brand over its history.
