It is employed by soldiers and other parties in conflict to humiliate opponents, terrify individuals, and destroy societies. Yet rape remains largely ignored in national and international conflict prevention and peace-building efforts. The mission of the website was to use the digital medium as a communication tool to galvanize global outrage and political will and to bring an end to sexual violence in crisis and recovery settings.
