Stop Rape Now campaign is part of a larger initiative UN Action Against Sexual Violence in Conflict. Sexual violence in conflict is an atrocity affecting millions of people, primarily women and girls. It is employed by soldiers and other parties in conflict to humiliate opponents, tetrify individuals, and destroy societies. Yet, rape remains largely ignored in national and international conflict prevention and peace-building efforts. The mission of the website was to use the digital medium as a communication tool to galvanise global outrage and political will and to bring an end to sexual violence in crisis and recovery settings.
