Overview

Background

Hong Kong, a city that never sleeps, was recently ranked last in a sleep survey of Asia – Hong Kong people sleep only 6.5 hours per night on average.

That’s probably because we hold the world record in another survey. We have the longest work week in the world, a whopping 38% longer the global average. Stressful lifestyle and lack of sleep undermine the well-being of Hong Kong people.

Idea

Casablanca, a local premium bedding manufacturer, understands that Hong Kong people catch up on sleep anytime, anywhere. When a full night’s sleep is often a luxury, an occasional power nap is indispensable between your morning coffee and long-awaited bedtime.

Introducing the Powernap Backpack. We designed a business backpack that doubles as a pillow, allowing workaholics to catch a wink whenever their brains need a quick charge.

Execution

The backpack is designed to store all your electronic devices. The metal compartment inside, made with radio frequency identification fabric, will insulate 90% of the mobile signals, creating a physical ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode for you.

Outcome

The Powernap movement was joined by many Hong Kong people. With 90% of the users agree that Powernap Backpack helped them to retrieve short but effective nap.

Casablanca proves that working in Hong Kong doesn’t mean you have to be sleepless in Hong Kong.
