Description

Mechanisms adopted were the points collection scheme applied to the barcodes on each banana box. Shop keepers were asked to copy the barcodes on a pre-printed form. The programme allowed different volume targets, granting prizes of proportional value. Moreover, everybody who returned the form, was entitled to enter the draw for a prize trip.

Outcome

Final redemption has been 11.3%.Sales boosting was gained as a primary objective. The two areas reacted differently but the average increase has been 4.3%, which is satisfactory, considering the tough season for the banana market.
