Description

We used the opportunity of the Christmas Greetings to demonstrate the creative capacity of our agency to our clients, prospects and friends, in order to get some new contracts.

Phase 1: direct mail700 friends, clients and colleagues received Shackleton’s Christmas present. An action full of humour and irony, which united the two most valued presents over Christmas: a ham and an iPhone.

Phase 2: Web- online campaignGuests were invited to access the web. A video there explained how to “enjoy the product”, as well as displayed the whole range of products developed for this campaign.

Execution

A research determined that the most valued presents over Christmas in Spain were either a ham for the most traditional people or an Apple iPhone for the modern ones.

Why not please both profiles? Give both presents? Why not combine both concepts?Thus the iHam was born: “i” as in I and “Ham” as in HamiHam is much more than ham: it is the perfect fusion of two ideas which are the perfect Christmas present in their own realms.

For the first time a ham acquired a technological look, user guide, accessories and even an Installation CD.

Outcome

“Mac World” called it the “the viral phenomena of the year”1,200,000 visits to the web www.ijam.es (more than apple.es)120,000 views on Youtube212,000 pages in GoogleIt appeared in 3,000 blogs, TV, radio and was nominated as “best present of the year”2,500 emails from 13 countriesApple Spain invited us for dinnerOsborne contracted us to modernize “the image of ham”Donuts, 3M, Dewars, Henkel and Google asked for meetings.276 requests to buy/distribute the IHam.
