This was the first ever live film from a major retailer in the UK. Our 2-minute broadcast aired at 7.30PM during an episode of popular TV soap Coronation Street. The channel's continuity voiceover introduced the film and then handed over to O'Leary.

Doing this meant we could take those watching at home into a Community Fridge in real time, so they could properly experience the impact of Co-op's funding. Doing a live film was a risk that presented numerous production challenges, but we didn't want to air a pre-recorded, perfected version of what we do- we wanted to create a truly authentic film that showcased how community spirit was alive and well in that moment. Our decision on the format of the film was an extension of our decision to acknowledge the millions of people struggling in the country, rather than creating a stylised celebration of festive indulgence.
