Description
DDB wanted to create a unique gift to send to its most valued clients and new business prospects to celebrate the dawn of a new, and hopefully, rosier year in 2011.
Execution
The challenge was to create a Christmas gift for both existing clients and potential new clients that reflected DDB's quality of thinking, passion and high production values. Something that recipients would want to keep.We thought a highly crafted calendar would meet the brief. Then we thought a highly crafted animated calendar would be even more engaging - 365 days in 365 frames.
The finished piece was a desk calendar designed like a giant flip-book which travels through the year in 365 frames of animation. A tree buds, flowers and sheds its blossoms showing the changing seasons as you flip through the months, while the background shifts through the colour spectrum to accentuate the time of year.
Outcome
This solution gave them something unique yet practical which they could interact with all year round.So, they'd always be reminded of, well, us. In the words of Justin Mowday, DDB's Managing Director: "For the first time we actually had clients spontaneously ring and say thanks for their Christmas gift rather than ignore us completely".
