Background

The Macallan is committed to excellence in all its endeavors. Distil Your World is a prime example of its unyielding spirit of exploration and insatiable thirst for knowledge. This project showcases their dedication by documenting and revealing the secrets of some of the most iconic places and cities around the globe. This episode is the latest challenge in their long and successful relationship seeking innovation with 3-star Michelin chefs the Roca brothers of El Celler de Can Roca twice awarded the world's best restaurant.

Innovation, gastronomy research, sustainability, and deep community spirit are central to this documentary series, which depicts a unique journey to unseen locations, where masters learn from masters by meeting with leading people who make those iconic places tick.

The final output is unique content about innovation, craftsmanship and knowledge, in addition to a Limited Edition whisky and gastronomic experience that captures the essence of each place.

Execution

We researched inspiring places in Mexico by partnering with local leading characters with a unique view about innovation, gastronomy, sustainability and community spirit, shared values of The Macallan and The Roca brothers, and take us through the celebrations of the day of the dead. We documented the whole process creating content as:

- A documentary series for Amazon Prime Video featuring Mexico in the final episode.

- A full Mexico menu based on the episode.

- A Limited Edition with a whisky and a unique packaging including an artwork inspired by the journey and created by a local Mexican artist.

A gastronomic creation of the Roca brothers inspired in Mexico and The day of dead celebration.

A content social media campaign with special features of every character involved in the episode.

2 launch events at Mexico and The Macallan Distillery presenting all the features of the project.
