Description
When the team went back to first, the club wanted to return the favor to those who are really alone. To do this, Getafe FC launched a very special campaign that shed light on the problem affecting more than 2 million senior citizens in Spain.
That's why we made a movie to show exactly what happens when you live alone: nothing. We introduce: Don't live me alone. An 85 minute-long online film without plot twist or special effects. 85 minutes to show how tough solitude could be.
Execution
We made a movie. A long film about two real people who live in the team's city. We filmed with them for a day and the movie shows exactly what we promised: nothing. These are 85 minutes of pure boredom, with no plot twists or special effects.
The movie came out in cinemas but it was distributed purely online; it could be downloaded with a donation at the website of the “Amigos de los Mayores” foundation (Friends of the Elderly Foundation). For the first time, an online movie was created so that consumers would pay for it and not be able to watch it in its entirety.
Because nothing feels as long as solitude.
Outcome
-All national sports news media channels covered it. All of them.
-Of all the campaigns for all the teams in the league, this one was the most watched, and it didn’t even mention football.
-+2.000.000€ of earned media; the largest coverage ever obtained by the association.
-+250% increase in web visits.
-+50% increase in volunteer inscriptions compared to last year.
-+120% of donations in regard to the previous month.
