Description
Drawing Inspiration From the Street to Feed the Hungry:
Instead of overwhelming viewers with stark realism, we inspired them by transforming broken landscapes of cracked pavement and shattered dishes into culinary feasts with colorful chalk, healthy food and groceries.
Then we utilized stop motion photography and special effects to reverse all this brokenness to represent the return to wholeness.
Anything in our path that could make the situation of feeding the hungry more appetizing to those in the community hungry to help.
Execution
Our Medium Was Chalk. Our Canvas Was the Street:
We illustrated faces with mouths as garbage and other debris, demonstrating the unsanitary conditions for the homeless isn’t only unpleasant—it’s thought provoking.
Plus, the grittiness of the street art engaged our target far greater than real-life photos ever could. Our illustrations and special effects drew attention to the problem and helped created a transformation of hope.
From NYC Streets to Online Footprint:
• After shooting and editing throughout the first months of 2015, we then launched our film online in late March of the same year
• We then followed up with posting our spot on various social media sites including Facebook, Instagram and YouTube
• With likes and sharing, the film spread to international blogs and publications
