We are a group of students of digital creativity with one idea: contact one of the best Creative Directors and impress him, because if David Droga would listen to us many other CD would too. This is how drogagiveme5.com was born. A simple idea in which we ask Droga for a little bit of time and maybe a chance to show him what we could do.

Things couldn’t have gone better. Not only he contacted us within 2 days, he came to Argentina and gave us a lecture and a brief for Droga5, which we are currently working on.

Execution

After going through all the available options, we realized that the fastest and the most effective way of making contact with David Droga was to develop a website just aimed at him. It had to be a site that could get his attention immediately, and also take our message directly to him. After a few months, we cloned his agency site and we made sure he was aware of that through twitter. Each member of the team created a DrogaGiveme5 account with his name and we all tweeted at the same time. On our site we invited him to contact us through Skype. The idea was to have a live conversation with David and ask him for work.

Outcome

With an investment of US$ 15 we not only got the result we wanted but a lot more. Within 24 hours of the launch of our website, David’s assistant got in touch with us and set up a conference over Skype with David Droga. After this, he came all the way to our school in Buenos Aires and gave us more than just a talk, an experience and as we hoped, a brief to work on.
