Description

XM conceptualised, designed and developed MTV Asia’s first foray into broadband with this site. It’s built entirely in Flash and features hi-fi background audio and a bunch of great video clips – capturing all the excitement of the night itself. Going broadband with an increasing broadband audience in Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore, MTV Asia knew it was time to start testing the waters. According to Randall Maxwell, General Manager of MTV Asia’s Online Division, “the MTV Asia Awards presented us with an opportunity. We already had the MTV Asia Awards post-event sites planned using highlights from the broadcast content. The broadcast content was so compelling that broadband became a necessity. Once the decision was made to move ahead, we looked for the best in creativity, quality and delivery. We are extremely happy with the creative results delivered by CCG.XM and the technical support supplied by the IDA. More MTV broadband online content is definitely on the way very soon.” With the support of the Singapore Infocomm Development Authority (IDA), who provided high-bandwidth server solutions, and XM, who had several key creative and technical staff with solid broadband experience, the dream became a reality. Making a site that works MTV Asia wanted this site to add value to their existing online properties and to keep the buzz from the awards alive. Lavishly animated, and loaded with features and promotions, the sites also gives visitors the opportunity to win prizes by voting for their favourite acceptance speech, red carpet interview and live performances. Meanwhile, Fatboy Slim provides the background music.
