Rudalis painful mourning next to a dead tree established tree as a living being, at once. The sight of it intrigued every passer-by to inquire further.The message was simple: The killing won’t stop, until you see it as killing.The trees were now talking: The obituary note and the sapling sticker reinforced the fact that they are living beings as each element distributed at the event spoke on behalf of the endangered trees.Members of the general public were left with valuable information in order to take preventive action against such killings. Trees urged everyone to ‘report attempts to kill’, to facilitate transplantation. This participation was made easy and prompt through effective web tools.

Outcome

All leading Newspapers and News channels (TV) shared voice, across languages.People logged on to report attempts to kill at www.bngenvtrust.org 600 mature trees were transplanted across Bangalore. Not killed.The very next week, thousands of saplings were planted.Shopkeepers adopted trees in their closest vicinity.
