The cover is made from etched aluminum used in the 1-Yen coin. Individual chapters are comprised of 50% cotton and 50% linen paper similar to the US Dollar, a 100% cotton paper on which the Euro, Pound Note and Yen are printed, and the durable polymer used in the Australian Dollar. Monetary-themed illustrations and inspirations appear throughout.
