OVERVIEW

Description

Eurostar enables people to make real connections. The ad shows the endless possibilities and stories that are waiting to be discovered in Paris.

Execution

The brief was to find and film the unexpected hearts of London/Paris, the sights and people that you come across as a curious traveller, demonstrating the myriad possibilities that lie in wait depending on the choices you make. A mammoth task when it is understood that every frame containing cast members is original and cast is cleared for commercial usage.

A story was identified in each script and cast in the traditional way with an emphasis on people with a less conventional look to help them to blend into the rest of the material which was shot on the run by a mixture of stills photography and film sequences by lightweight crews using highly portable camera formats.

The supporting cast were a mixture of characters that were either

1) discovered inhabiting the locations that were of interest and therefore came out of the research process, filmed as part of the location that was of interest and pre cleared and planned, or

2) were individuals with a specifically engaging look who were found as part of that process and asked to join us elsewhere in the schedule in a more engaging location or

3) were simply members of the public, filmed surreptitiously and subsequently cleared.
