OVERVIEW

Description

The world’s first video game designed to encourage blood donations. An in-game activation embedded in the action packed shooter game Special Force 2 that allows players who are low on blood in their game, to save themselves from dying, by going to a real blood bank, donating blood, and increasing their game life. Also saving real lives as a result.

Execution

When fans logged in for the latest game update, they discovered blood donation posters in the game. Explaining how donating their blood to a real blood bank, increased the blood volume in the health pack of the game they were playing.

It has been launched in Malaysia in end March, with a roll out across other South East Asian markets in the second half of the year.

Outcome

Discovered 150,000 potential donors.

9% of Malaysian gamers donated.

28% of all gamers registered to donate.

41% of donors signed up to donate again
