Description

HSBC was founded in Hong Kong 150 years ago.

As part of their anniversary celebrations, they wanted to turn the biggest sporting event in their hometown – the Hong Kong 7’s into the most spectacular tournament the fans had ever experienced.

They wanted to engage with the fans by taking the competitive spirit from the pitch and bringing it to the stands. The aim was to pit fan against fan and see who ‘brings their game.’

The film was targeted to fans online, to encourage them to dress up and that the best ones would be put on the screen, in HSBC Fan Cam.

But as the film shows, this was no ordinary Fan Cam

To inspire the fans, it showed spectators in some of the most outlandish costumes. It also featured two of the most-capped rugby players of all time, the Hong Kong team and even a dancing dog.

The effect was that a record number of fans turned up at the tournament in fancy dress costume and Fan Cam was taken to a whole new level.
