The spot begins with the Farmers® spokesman Professor Burke (actor J.K. Simmons) leading a customer through the Hall of Claims, a museum filled with artifacts from the bizarre-but-true insurance claims that Farmers has covered. Prof. Burke explains that they’ve covered just about everything over the years, even “Mer-Mutts.”

We cut to a domestic scene just as a pet dog turns on a kitchen faucet. The sink overflows, and begins to flood the house. The full group of household dogs later take advantage of the 3 feet of accumulated water to perform an intricate synchronized swimming routine. As they reach their finale, we see the homeowners watching in disbelief from the staircase.

We cut back to the Hall of Claims as Prof. Burke and the customer admire the “Mer-Mutts” exhibit. Prof. Burke tells the customer the date this insurance claim was covered before continuing deeper into the Hall.
