Description
For their world meeting in Silicon Valley, Deloitte were keen to emphasise the importance of staying ‘one step ahead’; their new brand positioning. They wanted an environmental exhibit that would engage the delegates and communicate the themes for the meeting.
Execution
The News Map is an interactive touch screen presenting the latest business news stories from across the globe. Using news aggregating software that gathers business news stories from thousands of media sources on the internet, the map displays key headlines in each circle. Once touched, these expand to reveal a synopsis of the story. The map continually changes and animates as new stories break.
Outcome
The News Map was launched at the Deloitte world meeting in Silicon Valley in June 2008. As a measure of the success of the News Map, Deloitte are rolling it out across their worldwide offices as a reception centrepiece. A laptop version has been developed to be issued to all 160,000 Deloitte staff.
