Execution

Utilising the promotional power of MySpace in conjunction with Technorati-powered blog feeds, we provided our audience with a constant window into the ongoing conversations in the blogosphere. Unique banners enabled conversation by allowing users to post comments to the blog directly within the units. Posts were sent directly from ads and were displayed on www.ShutUpandPost.com in real-time. Embed code enabled users to add these technically innovative ads to their MySpace profile, blog, or site.

Outcome

The blog received over 200,000 visitors in two weeks and has maintained a steady stream of post-campaign traffic.

Over 7,000 legitimate comments have been posted to the blog. Posts were not only authored by left wing/liberal supporters of the Dixie Chicks, but also by an abundance of right-wing/conservatives.
