In a martian landscape, a young astronaut named Ava is playing in a sandbox when her mother approaches to inform her that her bike is fixed. Ava climbs on her futuristic two-wheeler and begins to speed through the planet's rust-colored sand dunes. She gets a message from her father warning her not to go too far. However, later, the girl is shown exiting a shuttle in orbit and entering a nebula. The scene is revealed to be her imagination at work as she sits on her father's shoulders wearing a makeshift spacesuit and catching fireflies.
