Description

Star Trek 2.0 is a multi-disciplinary re-invention of the classic Star Trek TV show to make it relevant for the viewers of G4TV, a cable network for young, tech-savvy men. The effort includes a re-invention of the whole classic Star Trek TV series by turning it into an interactive game which you play online while you watch the show. Events in the show affect results of the game. The advertising features classic Star Trek action figures in modern-day settings to create more excitement for G4’s fun, interactive re-interpretation of classic Star Trek.

Execution

The re-invented TV series, the interactive game, and the commercials all launched simultaneously on G4TV. G4 did not have the budget to promote the show off-network so all promotion was on-network or viral, with the exception of web banners on select websites.
