OVERVIEW

Description

The campaign consisted of 3 short Zombie genre films to promote Boost Mobiles. The tone and pace was directed to really build the tension of the films and then break that tension with dramatic but cool zombie slaying.... of course.

Execution

Each film was shot in a single day.

The zombies were created through SPFX makeup and prosthetics to achieve false teeth, dead eyes and blood. Plus extra cut up body parts. It was a 4-hour process each morning just to create the zombies before filming. This project had a tighter budget than usual for what was eventually achieved.

All in all, it was a low budget film style shoot that had to come across as high production with realistic and believable characters.

The right locations were essential to illustrating the themes for each film. These locations included the empty office building, abandoned supermarket and a cleared city street.

We had to find locations where throwing fake blood around and re-creating havoc on a motorcycle wasn't an issue, so most of the location styling was dressed by Production Designers.

The zombie casting process involved both street cast and real actors in order to find the right group of people to enact the living dead. Skills such as motorcycle riding were also imperative for main characters and thus we had the challenge of finding the right actor who could also do technical stunts on motorbike! We also taught cast members how to fight, roller skate and walk like Zombies.

The music was original.
