HSBC was the first retail bank in the UK to have a January ‘sale’, but many high-street competitors followed suit.
In order to stay ahead of the pack, HSBC remained differentiated by harnessing their corporate / social responsibility credentials; placing their commitment at the heart of their marcomms strategy. Other banks have sales. HSBC have a Green Sale.The creative launched the sale whilst tapping into the green proposition and demonstrated the affiliation between animals of the rainforest bringing homepage takeover to life in the execution. This instance being the tree frog.
