Description
A signature says a lot about a person, no doubt about it. However what describes them even more is where and what they sign.
On Human Rights Day we organised an event in Barcelona, back up by 29 other cities in Spain. We alerted people by carrying out real graphological tests of recognised political leaders that shown their good qualities. Qualities they could reveal by signing International Human Rights Treaties instead of using their signatures to allow abuses against human rights. With this campaign we wanted to make these leaders and all the people aware about the power of their signature in the fight against human rights abuses, and above all to appeal them to exercise this power.
Execution
Through three different videos we did real graphological analysis of recognised political leaders. These videos explained the concept and invited people to attend the event on 10 December. We also started an application on Facebook: a graphological analysis with which you could find out what your signature says about you and, above all, what you could do with it. As well as making the activity viral, this application redirected you to the organisation’s website. We also produced different graphic material analysing several political leaders and did various street marketing activities.
During the event, a group of qualified graphologists were responsible for analysing the signatures of anyone who was interested. The graphologists also analysed the signatures of Obama and Hu Jintao in front of the media.Anyone who came forward to do the graphological analysis was given a leaflet which contained two letters, addressed to Obama and Hu Jintao requesting their commitment to Human Rights.
Outcome
In just one day we managed to get 14,263 signatures. And they’re still adding up.But above all we have made people aware that it’s not what a signature says about them that counts, but what they can do with it.
