We put posters featuring the imprisoned women. Instead of the prison bars, we attached pens. The pens were attached in such a way that people could easily remove them.
On every poster there was the headline: “Take a pen and set her free.” The pens taken by people were replenished by Amnesty International volunteers.
Outcome
In only two days of the campaign, we managed to send over 42,000 letters. It was two times more than previous year; and everything for the cost of few hundreds of pens and simple posters.
