Execution
Since our characters do not speak, the film’s story is told by the invisible voice over, explaining to the audience the situational placement of each character and instructing them with the process of sharing the promo code. Visually complementing the narrative, fast-cuts are used between medium and close-up shots, creating a rhythmic relationship of the narrative. During the first 20-seconds, each shot lasts 2-3 seconds, following the narrative’s pace of explaining the process for the first time, cutting between character establishment and object close-ups to literally for visual translation. When the narration speeds up, aiming to reinforce the process, the speed of the cross-cuts between the medium and close up shots increases by decreasing the shots duration to 1-2 seconds, except in longer pauses, creating a temporal relationship between each shot to showcase the transactional silent conversation occurring between two characters simultaneously.
