20 Getty Images letterings (the watermark) made out of plexiglass were produced. This letterings were mounted on three meter high metal sticks (and a plate underneath). If you now place the lettering in a certain distance infront of e.g. the Brandburger Tor in Berlin, people who take a picture of it, automatically have the Getty Images watermark on their photograph. All over Germany the Getty Images Watermarks were placed at well known and unknown spots. In this way we branded every picture with the Getty Images watermark that has been taken at that time by any person.
